Young and small, slim faces are inseparable. Celebrities and pretty people have something in common that theirfaces are small and slim.

On the contrary, a large, bumpy face makes one look older and more likely to give a strong image. Therefore, interest in facial contouring surgery that improves facial shape is increasing.

Facial contouring surgery is a method of improving facial shape by trimming or moving facial bone and the main focus is not to reduce the size of the face. During surgery, bumpy or large face shapes are improved aesthetically, which can be seen as a reduction in the face.

Since facial contouring surgery is an operation that works by reducing facial bones, many people misunderstand that the more bones is cut, the smaller the face becomes. So people often ask me to cut the jawbone as much as possible and cut the jawbone all the way below the nerve line."

Facial bone surgery, such as facial contouring requires a more careful decision because it can not be returned to its original state once it is cut or deformed.

Considering the reason for facial contouring surgery, many of them are due to the wrong amount of surgery.

Most of them have been cut too much and they are caused by a large amount of surgery. In surgery ,cutting or trimming is a bone, but what is actually shown includes soft tissue such as skin and muscles surrounding the bone, so the degree to which the soft tissue in the surgical site reacts to the bone must be considered when bone resection is performed.

The most important thing in the reaction here is skin elasticity.

The degree of reaction of surrounding soft tissue varies depending on each part of the bone.

The area near the tip of the chin and the lower jaw angle are well received, and the middle part of the jawline (lower body) is less responsive.

Therefore, the actual face shape can be changed smoothly by reducing the number of areas with good responses and increasing the number of areas with small responses.

If you cut too much beyond the limit of your reaction, your skin may not stick to your bones and become stretched out, so you should avoid cutting too much without hesitation.

Jin-soo Lee, doctor of Faceline Plastic Surgery Clinic, said, "It is not right to choose a place where you want to cut as much as you want in order to achieve satisfactory results of facial surgery.

"Based on precise diagnosis results, it is important to considerthe individual's current face condition and the face that wants to change, and to consider the degree of reaction (elasticity) of the soft tissue to choose a place where surgery can be performed with the optimal amount of surgery,"he said.
